The selection of trainees is done by a committee of teaching staff based on anonymous applications and through an open process. The courses are open to current residents of Syria and those who have left the country since March 2011. Each candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree or at least three years of higher education relevant to the course applied for or at least three years of professional experience in a relevant field. Candidates are also required to provide an essay of 600-750 words and a letter stating their goals and vision of how they will serve their community. Women are particularly encouraged to apply.
